A large explosion outside the denmark embassy in the highly secure area of F-6/2 has left at least 4 people dead and several injured.

The explosives went off at around 1:00 pm Pakistan standard time.

It has shocked one and all how such a large explosion could have taken place in an area so highly secured by police and intelligence officials all the time.

Video's that I have seen on various news channels show a lot of debris, numerous cars destroyed and a large crater left in the ground where apparently a car bomb went off.

The exact details of losses are yet to be clear, but clearly the blast was of a big big scale.

Update: At least 8 people have reportedly died in the tragedy and at least 24 are injured
