Heard this news? Shoaib Akhtar, it is learnt, is about to sign a million dollar deal with the breakaway cricket league, the ICL. Shoaib Akhtar is already in troubled waters after some more controversial comments against the PCB's central contract scheme. Shoaib had been placed in a lower category. It is learnt that Shoaib is about to sign a 3-year deal worth one million dollarsm making him stand shoulder to shoulder with one of the most expensive cricketers in todays modern and highly commercialized cricketing world. It is believed that Shoaib has also signed a contract with the official Indian Premier League (IPL) but is likely to cancel it after falling out with the PCB bosses. Shoaib, 32, would be getting that biggest contract while New Zealand pace star Shane Bond who has reportedly been signed for US$800,000 by the ICL. Shoaib Akhtar might be launching a legal battle against the PCB soon. The PCB on the other hand is preparing itself to shun Shoaib Akhtar for good by imposing a life ban on his cricket in Pakistan. Shoaib Akhtar was ignored for the Zimbabwe series after being placed in a low ranked central contract grade. He was, however, made captain of the Islamabad team in the pentagular cup, but he has now been removed from that team as well after his recent comments against the PCB.
