How to get your first customer was the talk of the day. An illustrious event that started off with beautiful television advertisements from the '80's to get the audience on their toes. Start-up insiders # 4 it was. A journey that took off from the dining room of Pix-sense has come so far, its 4th event in a matter of 3 weeks. Lahore and Islamabad witnessed these sessions in the same high spirits. PakMarkaz.Net was there, me (Ammar Faheem and Mustafa Haroon).

Held at the Marriot hotel and sponsored by Alchemy Technologies, the panelists included Salim Ghauri (CEO NetSol Technologies), Faisal Qureshi (CEO Kolachi Advanced Technologies), Jehan Ara (President P@SHA), Jawwad Farid (CEO Alchemy Technologies), Adnan Agboatwala (Co-Founder, PixSense), Amir Hashmi (Founder & CEO, Si3) and Imran Zia (CEP Vahzay Pvt. Ltd). I hope I have'nt missed out on anyone!

I missed Osama's presence, man you should have been here!

The focus was on identifying your customer(s), and then how to go about tackling them. The stories were awe-inspiring. The event had a much more feeling of comfortability as compared to last time.

Someone who has inspired me to absolutely no limit, and I must not forget to mention him, is the man after the 'con', F.Q! Yep! Faisal Qureshi! People complain he talks a lot, yes he does - but when he talk's serious, he's a man I'd love to write a book of quotations for! How about something like 'Personal Quotes of F-Q!'

We learnt important values, from Jawwad's anger management issue and the other stories. "Product becho, izzat na becho, rizq denay wala Allah hai, jo aap ki qismat mein hai, wo aap ko milay ga, izzat na becho", (Sell your product, do not sell your dignity and self-respect, God will give you the resources and nobody can take away from you what God has written for you, Do Not sell your diginity and self-esteem) - Quoting F-Q again! Beautiful lines that I might never be able to forget!

I have video recordings of Faisal's turn, when he was talking (solicited!), and I'll upload them soon!

I guess I was the only student there, again! I'll be entering my final year of studies as a Telecommunication Engineer in August, but this passion to 'start-up' has been in me since I was 14!

A lovely, energy-filled evening! Bless you - the organizers! And go on talking F-Q! You've made a lot of fans!
