Cold? Karachi is Very Cold!Category: City Written by: Ammar (on February 05, 2008 - 10:50 PM)E-Mail Article to a Friend
The streets seem to be emptier, lesser people to be seen in a city like Karachi. The wind is so powerful that motor-cyclists and padestrians find it extremely difficult to manage. Writing this blog entry here, I can hear the wind roaring outside. Weather experts from the BBC sources predict Wednesday's temperatur to hit -4 degrees celsius. Karachi going into the negative scale is unbelievable for almost everyone I have shared this information with. The title image of this article shows the BBC 5-day forecast. Two days back, this forecast predicted -1 for the same day (Wednesday) at night. The updated website now says -4. We just have to live till the morning to find out whether Karachi really did touch the negative scale or not. This information is fascinating for some, exciting for almost everyone. But a little hard fact that we must not ignore. There are thousands out there who are homeless. There are thousands out there without proper clothing for winters. I urge all of those who are able to, please donate sweaters, jackets and blankets to Edhi homes and other such organizations. Do not keep those clothes you do not use at home. I started writing this in excitement, now I am terrified by the thought of the plight such people would be in. Do not forget them as you sit in front of a computer comfortably warm at home!
