At least 27 people died and more then 70 were injured after the suicide blast that went off outside Lahore High Court at 11:35 local time.

Injured people were taken to the hospitals where they were provided with medical assistance.

Authorities have confirmed it as a suicide bombing and also the head of the suicide bomber has been found and sent to the laboratories for official findings.

Among the victims most number of people belong to the Pakistan Police that were deployed there to provide the safety to the rally which was to be held by the lawyers to protest against the government; demanding to restore the judiciary back to Nov.3rd position.

Many Lawyers rushed to the hospitals to donate blood for the persons wounded in the incident.

Rs. 3 lacs have been announced by the government for the family members of the victims who lost their lives and also security across the country has been beefed up in the whole country specially Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad/Rawalpindi and Karachi.

Also to mention that it was going to be the first rally after the incident of Dec. 27 '07.

Many officials have condemned this act of terrorism.
